Comprehensive Expansion Plan for Its Agricultural Projects: Imam Hussain Holy Sh...

The Agricultural Authority at the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine announced the launch of a comprehensive expansion plan for its agricultural projects, including the establishment of processing manufacturing plants in cooperation with international companies, and the introduction of new types of trees and plants to Holy Karbala Governorate for the first time.

The head of the authority, Engineer Razzaq Al-Taie, said that "the Agricultural Authority at the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine launched a comprehensive expansion plan for its agricultural projects, which includes creating processing plants in collaboration with global companies, as well as introducing new species of trees and plants to Holy Karbala Governorate for the first time."

He explained that "these projects receive direct support and attention from the Representative of the Supreme Religious Authority," pointing out that "the expansion aims to diversify agricultural production and support the local economy."

He added that "the authority has initiated contracting procedures with specialized companies to build a processing plant dedicated to date products, alongside planning the construction of additional facilities for the production of date syrup and vinegar."

He continued that "the plan also involves expanding cultivated areas at the Fadak Farm and the Green Belt, in addition to carrying out the top management's recommendations to increase grain farming projects by installing new center-pivot sprinklers, as well as signing an investment contract to set up protected agriculture (greenhouses) for producing essential crops such as tomatoes, cucumbers, and eggplants."

He noted that "there is also a plan to enter into an investment opportunity to expand the cultivation of cut flowers, a domain in which the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine stands out as a unique entity across Iraq through its Department of Ornamentation and Afforestation."
