Sayyida Khadija Al-Kubra Specialized Hospital for Women, affiliated with the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, has announced the launch of an initiative for the early detection of breast cancer, running throughout the current month.

In an interview with the Official Website, the hospital director, Dr. Baidaa Al-Tamimi, stated that "the initiative came under the direct guidance of the representative of the Supreme Religious Authority, Sheikh Abdul-Mahdi Al-Karbalai, and under the sponsorship of the Secretary-General of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, Mr. Hassan Rashid Jawad Al-Abayachi, aimed at enhancing comprehensive healthcare for women and providing early screening services according to the highest medical standards."

She explained that "the initiative includes offering free clinical breast examination services to all female visitors, in addition to providing a (50%) discount on comprehensive specialized examinations, which include mammograms, ultrasound, and diagnostic radiography throughout the current month."

She added that "this step coincides with World Breast Cancer Awareness Month under the slogan (Together to Fight Breast Cancer), in an effort by the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine to support women and encourage them to undergo regular checkups to reduce the spread of the disease and detect it in its early stages."

It is worth noting that the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine continues to execute its medical and health projects and initiatives across various Iraqi governorates, striving to ease the burdens on citizens and supply the finest diagnostic and therapeutic services through its specialized institutions.
