Spanning 63 dunams, the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine opens the Al-Qasab Rest House for families in Karbala

The Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine inaugurated the Al-Qasab Rest Area for families on the Najaf-Karbala road, opposite pillar 1040.

The opening ceremony was attended by the Secretary-General of the Holy Shrine; Sayed. Mustafa Murtadha Aal Dia-Uddin, his deputy, Mr. Mohammad Ali Azhar, a number of officials and dignitaries, as well as a group of families.

Dr. Abbas Al-Dada Al-Mousawi, a member of the Holy Shrine's Board of Directors, stated: "The Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine is always at the forefront of serving humanity whenever the opportunity arises. With this recreational facility, the Holy Shrine recognized a gap in the provision of a recreational environment for families, one that offered comfort and services. Therefore, it took the initiative to transform a barren area into a haven where weary souls can find respite and escape the fatigue and strain of daily life, work, and the pressures of circumstances."

He added, "Iraqi families will find in this place the beauty and tranquility of nature they need to relax and recharge for the days ahead. Recreational activities are available to suit all age groups, while also preserving their privacy, allowing them to spend peaceful and independent time away from the noise and disturbances that can affect the dignity, sanctity, and privacy of Iraqi families."

The resort includes various recreational facilities, such as 14 fountains reaching up to 30 meters in height, more than 200 public seating areas for families to relax, a horse riding arena, a mosque, a restaurant, a comprehensive market, a large artificial lake for fishing, and designated barbecue areas.

The resort also features a bird park, offering families the opportunity to enjoy nature, two children's play areas, a train, scooters, electric bikes, bicycles, and boats for families, among other recreational activities.

The Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine is keen to create a recreational environment that meets the needs of the Iraqi family. It also represents a step to combat desertification and support the environmental situation, through increasing green spaces and planting trees to form a natural environment that contributes to improving the climate, as the green spaces for the rest area amount to 36 dunams out of the total area of ​​63 dunams.
