The Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine holds the sixth batch of funeral ceremonies for the remains of the martyrs of Badush Prison in Najaf Ashraf

The Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine held the sixth funeral ceremony for the remains of the martyrs of the Badush prison massacre in the holy city of Najaf.

The Iraqi Center for Documenting Extremism Crimes, affiliated with the Intellectual and Cultural Affairs Department of the Holy Shrine, in cooperation and coordination with the Forensic Medicine Department and the Department for the Protection of Mass Graves and Missing Persons, adopted the funeral and burial ceremonies for the victims as part of its efforts to preserve national memory and document the crimes they were subjected to.

The funeral procession began from Sheikh Al-Tusi Street, reaching the courtyard of the Commander of the Faithful, Imam Ali (peace be upon him), where prayers were held for the martyrs' remains, attended by their families and participants in the ceremonies.

The funeral ceremonies were attended by Dr. Afdhal Al-Shami, a member of the Board of Directors of the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine, along with several officials from the holy shrine and heads of its departments, in addition to official and religious figures and the victims' families.

After completing the funeral and prayer ceremonies, the remains of the martyrs will be transferred to the Al-Kafeel Cemetery in the holy city of Najaf, to conduct the burial rites and lay them to rest in their final resting place.

The holding of the funeral ceremonies is part of the Iraqi Center's efforts to document the crimes of extremism and terrorism, commemorate the victims of the Badush prison massacre, and console their families after years of waiting.
