The second day of the Third International Specialized Conference on Information and Libraries has commenced

The Intellectual and Cultural Affairs Department of the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine launched the second day of the third specialized international conference on information and libraries at Al-Ameed University.

The conference is organized by the Center for Indexing and Information Systems and the Center for Manuscript Heritage Preservation and Archival Documentation, affiliated with the Library and Manuscript House of the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine, in collaboration with Al-Ameed University, and in scientific partnership with the College of Artificial Intelligence at the University of Baghdad, in addition to the Departments of Information and Knowledge Technologies at the universities of Al-Mustansiriya, Basra, and Mosul, under the slogan "Knowledge Leadership: Leading the Future," from October 13-15, 2026.

The director of the Indexing Center, Mr. Hassanein Al-Moussawi, said that the second day will witness the discussion of 45 scientific papers on topics related to libraries, archives, information, and artificial intelligence, through three research sessions held in five halls each.

The first research session addresses the topic of artificial intelligence, big data, and digital technologies, while the second session explores system integration, augmented reality, and sustainable library management. The third session covers topics related to archives, documents, and cultural memory (digital and institutional heritage).

The conference aims to highlight the latest smart technologies and artificial intelligence applications in library and information institution management, discuss mechanisms for the digital and sustainable preservation of Iraqi and Arab heritage, and provide a scientific platform for exchanging expertise between researchers and academic institutions to achieve knowledge leadership and future guidance.
