What is the ruling on bovine gelatin imported from non-Islamic countries?

In the name of Allah, if it is not known that it was taken from an animal that is lawful to eat and slaughtered according to Islamic law, then it is not permissible to eat it. Merely having a label stating "slaughtered according to Islamic law" is not sufficient. Allah knows best.
