Some of my friends say that the phrase (Ali Wali [guardian of] Allah) is not part of the call to prayer, but it was fabricated by the Shiites. Can you advise regarding this? Are there sayings or hadiths of the imams (PBUT) in this regard, and did it start in the time of the imams (PBUT)?

In the name of Allah, this testimony is a symbol of Shiism, a symbol of true faith, and part of the true belief. It has been proven that inserting this testimony into the call to prayer and the iqaamah - practically - does not invalidate the considered unity in them. Therefore, this has become a symbol of the Shiite region in which this call to prayer is raised and there is a great promised reward for this testimony. Therefore, the eminent scholars throughout history have allowed it. Furthermore, those who leave it are considered to be outside Shiism according to the Shiite tradition. Allah knows best.
