Is it permissible for me to withhold giving charity to someone if I know that they do not need it? And is it disliked to refuse them even if I know they do not need the charity?
Answer
In the name of Allah, it is not a condition for giving charity that the recipient must be in need. However, if what you have is a voluntary charity (sadaqah) and you intend to give it to a specific person in need, then it is better to prefer the one in need over others. Allah is the Guide.
