If both husband and wife share the financial responsibility of the household and jointly cover the expenses, who is obligated to pay Zakat Al-Fitrah? Should one of them pay, or are they both responsible?
Answer
In the name of Allah, each of them must pay their own Fitrah from their own earnings. As for the Fitrah of those they financially support, it is a shared responsibility unless one of them voluntarily takes full responsibility for it. Allah knows best.
