If someone entrusts another person to perform an obligatory prayer on their behalf, is it obligatory to hire someone to perform it along with the recommended acts such as the call to prayer (Adhan), the call to commence the prayer (Iqamah), supplication during the silent prayers (Qunut), and the prescribed utterances in the final three units (rak'ahs)? If one follows the customary practices in this matter, does it refer to the general practices observed by people in prayer, or does it refer to the practices observed by those who pray for payment? And if there is another possibility, could it be clarified?
Answer
In the name of Allah, it is necessary to reach an agreement between the employer and the hired person. As for the Adhan and Iqamah, it suffices to perform the Adhan once for a group of prayers and the Iqamah for each prayer. Regarding the remaining recommended acts, an agreement must be reached between the employer and the hired person. Allah knows best.
