What is the position of Islamic criminal jurisprudence regarding a man’s severe beating of his wife, or one of his female relatives (mahram), because she has committed an obscene act such as fornication (may Allah keep it away from you), or committed an immoral relationship with others through the social media like sending photos in an indecent and exposed manner or having sexual words?

In the name of Allah, the ruling varies as per the situation. All of this is under enjoining good and forbidding evil on the husband's side towards his wife or mahram woman. One must commit to the principles of these two obligations (enjoining good and forbidding evil) to reform the community. Allah is the Guide.
