When the time of prayer is due, is it obligatory for the worshipper, to wait for the call to prayer (Athan) saying "Hayya 'ala-s-Salah" before starting the prayer?
Answer
In the name of Allah, if the person intends to join the congregational prayer, then they should wait and listen for the Adhan. Otherwise, they are allowed to initiate the prayer with its preliminary actions. Allah knows best.
