Hadith 66-26

حَدَّثَنا مُحَمَّد بن مُوسَى بن المُتِوَكِّل قالَ حَدَّثَنا عَلِيٍّ بن إِبراهِيم بن هاشِمٍ عَن أبِيهِ عَن العَبَّاس بن معروف عَن عَلِيٍّ بن مهزيار قالَ قلت لأبي جَعفَر عَلَيْهِ السَّلامُ يعني مُحَمَّد بن عَلِيٍّ الرِّضا عَلَيْهِ السَّلامُ جعلت فداك زيارة الرِّضا عَلَيْهِ السَّلامُ أفضل أم زيارة أبي عَبدُ اللَّه الحُسَين‏ عَلَيْهِ السَّلامُ فَقالَ زيارة أبي‏ عَلَيْهِ السَّلامُ أفضل و ذلِكَ أن أبا عَبدُ اللَّه‏ عَلَيْهِ السَّلامُ يزوره كل الناس و أبي‏ عَلَيْهِ السَّلامُ لا يزوره إلا الخواص من الشيعة

Muhammad ibn Musa al-Mutawakkil narrated that Ali ibn Ibrahim ibn Hashem quoted on the authority of his father, on the authority of Al-Abbas ibn Ma’ruf, on the authority of Ali ibn Mahzyar that he said to Abi Ja’far - that is Muhammad ibn Ali Ar-Ridha’ (Imam Jawad) (a.s.), “May I be your ransom! Is the pilgrimage to Ar-Ridha’ (a.s.) superior to the pilgrimage to Abi Abdullah Al-Husayn (a.s.)?” Then Muhammad ibn Ali (a.s.) replied, “The pilgrimage to my father is better since all the people visit (the shrine of Imam Al-Husayn) Aba Abdullah (a.s.) while only a special group of the Shiites visit my father Ar-Ridha’ (a.s.).”
